Amazon has reached agreement with Eneco for the supply of 130MW of electricity from the 759MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm off the Netherlands.
Hollandse Kust Noord is being constructed 18.5km off the Dutch coast by the CrossWind joint venture between Shell and Eneco.
CrossWind is currently working on installing the 69 turbines and the wind farm is scheduled to become operational in 2023.
Hollandse Kust Noord will generate at least 3.3 terrawatt-hours of electricity a year.
Eneco chief strategic growth officer Kees-Jan Rameau said: “Amazon has a clear climate ambition and we are proud to contribute to this goal by delivering renewable energy generated by the offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust Noord.
“This collaboration enables us to invest in more renewable energy projects and, thus, accelerate the energy transition.”
