Jan De Nul has completed the first phase of scour protection on 51 foundations at Nobelwind’s 165MW Belwind 2 offshore wind farm off the Belgium coast.
The company said the scour protection is part of its engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the project.
The fall pipe vessel Simon Stevin is being used for the job, Jan De Nul said.
The work consists of a light filter layer – first phase – followed by a heavier coating layer, the company said.
The scour protection should last 25 years, it added.
