Jan De Nul has been confirmed as installation contractor for EDF’s five-turbine Blyth offshore wind demonstration project in northeast England.
The contractor indicated on social media that it will use newbuild vessel Vole au Vent (pictured) to tackle erection of MHI Vestas V164 hardware at the 41.5MW project.
The tie-up was first reported exclusively in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS in April.
Blyth will feature float and sink hybrid concrete and steel gravity foundations as well as 66kV cabling.
Construction off Northumberland is due to be wrapped up in 2017.
