Lead foundations contractor Jan De Nul has said fabrication of jackets for the 110MW Changhua phase one wind project off the coast of Taiwan is nearly complete.
The first full jacket will be finished by the second half of April with the first batch of four to be shipped from the Samkang shipyard in South Korea next month.
In total, 21 jackets are nearing completion and will be shipped to Taichung Port in Taiwan.
The jackets will then be transported to their final destination off the coast of Fangyuan for installation.
Jan De Nul is responsible for the design, fabrication and installation of the foundations, the installation of the project’s 21 wind turbines, supply and installation of all the cables, as well as the electrical substation upgrade.
Hitachi is in charge of manufacturing, assembly and other works related to the offshore wind turbines.
Jan De Nul and Hitachi will operate and maintain the wind farm for five years.
Taipower is developing the project.
