JDR has secured an order from Seaway 7 to supply 66kV subsea array cables for the 900MW He Dreiht offshore wind project in the German North Sea.
JDR will supply 100 km of 66kV array cable that will connect the project’s 64 wind turbines at EnBW’s offshore wind farm.
The cables will be manufactured at JDR’s factory in Hartlepool, UK, before being installed at the project in 2025.
JDR said it won the contract from Seaway 7 through a competitive tender due to its technical capabilities and breadth of offshore experience providing cable products and services to 50 offshore wind projects to date
He Dreiht offshore wind farm is located within the German Exclusive Economic Zone of the North Sea, around 85 km north of the Borkum Island and 95 km west of the Helgoland Island.
The wind farm will also be the first to use turbines with a capacity of 15MW each.
The project is scheduled to be operational by 2025.
