JDR has completed the delivery of subsea power cables and accessories to Jan De Nul for the 110MW phase one of the Changhua offshore wind project off the coast of Taiwan.
The company produced 65 kilometres of 33kW cables at its UK factory in Hartlepool supported by its group facility in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
The cables were then successfully loaded onto the Isaac Newton cable laying vessel for transport and installation by Jan De Nul.
JDR project director Paul Marsh said: “This is our second project in Taiwan and we are thrilled to be a part of the local offshore wind success story.
“We delivered the cables on time to our customer, Jan De Nul Group, and we have once again enjoyed working alongside them in this emerging region.”
The project is located off the coast of Fangyuan in Changhua County. Taipower is developing the offshore wind farm. Jan De Nul and Hitachi are the project’s main contractors.
Phase one will see the installation and commissioning of 21 5.2MW offshore wind turbines.
