Dutch marine engineering outfit KCI has been chosen by KEPCO E&C to support the 100MW Jeju Hanlim offshore wind project off the coast of South Korea.
KCI will act as wind turbine substructures and foundation engineering consultant on the project.
KEPCO E&C is leading the consortium which has been developing the Jeju Hanlim project since 2011.
KCI’s services include reviewing and performing technical advice related to the concept, basic and detailed designs for the project’s turbine substructures.
KCI stated: “It is an honour to assist Kepco E&C with the first steps into this new field for South Korea with engineering assistance and lessons learned during the development of European wind farms.
“With this awarding to KCI the engineers KEPCO E&C will be enabled to reduce risks and secure the project success.”
Jeju Hanlim is located near the Tamra offshore project just of the coast of Jeju Island, south-west of the mainland.
