Mingyang Smart Energy has launched the world’s largest single-capacity floating turbine platform OceanX (pictured) in Guangzhou, China.
OceanX features a dual-machine ‘V’ shaped structure with a total capacity of 16.6MW to optimise wind capture and efficiency.

The technology has been designed for deep-water applications and is capable of producing 54 million kWh annually, sufficient to power 30,000 households, Mingyang said.
OceanX has been built with ultra-high performance concrete for durability and features a cable-stayed system to enhance structural efficiency and adaptability.
It also has single-point mooring to ensure stability and safety even in extreme typhoon conditions.
