Japanese investor Mitsui & Co has taken a 20% stake in the 1GW-plus Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan.
This follows the completion by Mitsui of its acquisition of a 50% interest in Yushan Energy Taiwan, which holds a 40% interest in Hai Long.
Canadian developer Northland Power holds the remaining stake in the wind farm.
The companies said a final investment decision on the project is expected after 2021, with commercial operations planned for 2025.
