MMT has won a contract from Prysmian for marine survey services for cable route design and engineering for the 700MW Cobra subsea interconnector between the Netherlands and Denmark.
The survey, which will start in July, includes inshore and offshore work, consisting of geophysical, geotechnical and visual surveys such as cable tracker for cable crossings.
MMT said it will deploy its own remotely operated vehicles and survey vessels Franklin, Seabeam and Ping for the work.
The 325km link will run from Eemshaven in the Netherlands through German waters to Endrup in Denmark and is expected to be operating in 2019.
It will allow for the import of more renewable energy, particularly Danish wind, to the Netherlands and will also be designed to connect to future offshore wind farms.
