MPI is extending the legs of installation jack-up Resolution in order to increase operational capabilities into deeper waters.
Work on the upgrade started in September and is being tackled by Wilton Engineering at the company’s Tees offshore base in Middlesbrough, England.
Modifications will allow Resolution to operate in waters up to 35 metres deep, depending onsite site specific data, a seven metre boost on the previous configuration.
The vessel was the first purpose-build wind farm installation vessel when it was launched in 2003. In late 2015 it underwent an upgrade to full DP2 classification.
