MPI Offshore has begun a campaign to repair blades at 29 of 60 MHI Vestas V80-2.0MW turbines at Eneco’s 120MW Princess Amalia wind farm off the Netherlands.
The offshore contractor is carrying out the work with its MPI Resolution jack-up and completing repairs from a mobile habitat on the back deck of the vessel, MPI’s owner Van Oord said.

Full details of the O&M campaign were first reported by subscriber-only reNEWS in June.
Damaged components will be taken down from turbines and brought aboard the vessel where a shell-like structure will be glued to the blade.
“The expectation is that with this repair the blades can last until the end of the expected life of the park,” Van Oord said.
