Siemens has awarded the contract to supply jackets and piles for its 28MW Nissum Bredning offshore wind demonstration in Denmark to Navantia.
The Spanish company and its partner Windar will deliver three-legged jacket foundations for four Siemens SWT-7.0-154 turbines, the joint venture said. The structures will be delivered by mid-2017.
Local companies Nissum Bredning Vindmøllelaug and Jysk Energi are developing the project, which will be located near Thyborøn in the northwest of the country.
The wind farm will include a 66kV transmission system and lightweight turbine towers in a bid to reduce costs.
Turbine installation is scheduled for summer 2017 and commissioning is expected in the third quarter of the year.
