NKT has confirmed that it will supply HVDC export cables for the 1200MW each Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A and B offshore wind farms off the east coast of England.
The company said it has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and Installation contract with the projects’ owners Equinor and SSE Renewables.
NKT said the order represents a contract value of approximately €360m.
The deal comprises the manufacture of about four 175km long 320kV DC offshore cables and approximately 32 km of 320kV DC onshore wires.
It will also supply the cable-laying vessel NKT Victoria for installation.
NKT expects production of the cables to start in 2020.
The company had announced it was the preferred supplier of export cables for the projects on 20 September.
Equinor and SSE Renewables secured the rights to develop Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A and B, as well as the Teesside A project, in the UK’s third Contract for Difference round.
SSE will lead construction, while Equinor will head up the operations phase.
