Orsted has achieved first power at the 920MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms off Taiwan.
The milestone has been hit five months after offshore construction began, the company said.

Installation of 66 suction bucket jacket foundations was wrapped up earlier this month and Orsted said it is now focused on installing and commissioning the remaining turbines as it works towards full commercial operations.
Siemens Gamesa 14MW turbines are being used at the projects located 35-60km off the coast of Changhua County.
Once fully operational, electricity generated by the arrays will be sold to Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
