TIME magazine has chosen Orsted to be in its 2021 list of 100 of the world’s most influential companies.
The TIME100 Most Influential Companies is an extension of TIME’s annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Orsted CEO Mads Nipper said: “The world must halve global emissions by 2030 and companies play a crucial role in the much-needed acceleration of global climate action.
“At Orsted we strive to be a catalyst for change as we deploy renewable energy at scale to help “governments and companies around the world transition to green energy.
“Therefore, we’re very excited to be included in the inaugural TIME100 Most Influential Companies list and for being recognised for our contribution to speeding up the global transition to green energy.”
The listing entry said Orsted’s decision to sell off its oil-and-gas assets in 2017 and reorient itself around renewable energy, particularly offshore wind, is a bet that has paid off.
Today Orsted is the world’s leading offshore wind operator,” said TIME.
