Orsted has agreed a four-year framework with MDE Consultants for the provision of personnel for its German offshore wind farms.
MDE Consultants will be providing qualified personnel for the entire lifecycle of wind farms, it said.
The full scope of work includes staff for engineering, electrical, operations and logistics, to project management, commissioning and various roles related to O&M inspections.
The agreement will run until 2025 and adds to previous framework of agreements agreed between the two companies covering projects in the UK, Denmark, Taiwan, Netherlands and Poland.
“We are delighted to be awarded this contract and continue to strengthen our relationship with Orsted globally,” said MDE Consultants managing director Tom Nixon.
“It marks a huge step forward for our business in recognising MDE as a global leader of manpower and mobility services for the renewables industry, confirming our position as a proven provider to the European offshore sector.”
With both wind projects located in the German North Sea, Gode Wind 3 is expected to be fully commissioned in 2024 with a total capacity of 242MW, while Borkum Riffgrund 3 will have a total capacity of 900MW adjacent to Ørsted’s existing offshore wind farms, Borkum Riffgrund 1 and Borkum Riffgrund 2.
Borkum 3 is expected to be fully commissioned by 2025.
