The Maryland Public Service Commission has approved Orsted’s turbine selection for its Skipjack site off the coast of Delaware.
The 120MW project will use GE Haliade-X 12 MW turbines when it comes online at the end of 2023.
It is hoped the offshore site will provide nearly 35,000 homes in with clean, reliable offshore wind energy
The Commission has also ordered Orsted to reengage with stakeholders over the project.
It must provide the Commission with a status report regarding stakeholder engagement every six months until ordered to discontinue.
The status report is to be filed in writing and to contain specific information regarding dates and times of meetings, persons met with, topics discussed, and the notice given for stakeholder engagements.
