Ocean Winds and Ignitis have suffered an outage affecting half of the power at the 882MW Moray West wind farm off north-east Scotland.
The outage, which affects one of the project’s two offshore substations, has been active since November, according to newly-filed accounts for the project.
Repair work is understood to be ongoing.
The accounts separately outline that the sponsors are in discussions with their lenders after a contractual milestone for an unnamed off-take agreement was missed last September.
“This delay in achieving the contractual milestone represents an event of default under the project lending agreements,” according to the project accounts.
“The lending agreement specified that the default could be cured by the Company declaring commercial operations under an agreed PPA within an initial cure period which has now expired.
“The Company and Lenders have agreed a short-term waiver to extend the cure period and are currently in discussions for a further extension.”
Ongoing discussions with lenders are described as “constructive” and there is an expectation the waiver will be granted.
Commercial operations, which had been due last year, are expected to start in 2026, according to the accounts.
Ocean Winds has been contacted for comment.
