OX2 has submitted a permit application to construct the 1800MW Triton offshore wind farm off the coast of Skane in the south of Sweden.
The wind developer has submitted the permit application under Sweden’s Exclusive Economic Zone Act.
Triton will be situated about 30km south of Ystad and will consist of up to 129 turbines with a maximum height of 370 metres.
OX2 country manager Hillevi Priscar said: “I am very happy that we are taking the next step in the development of Triton.
“The wind farm will be constructed on bottom fixed construction which is a well proven technology. This will keep time of construction short.
“Once completed the wind farm will contribute with additional electricity in the south of Sweden and contribute to Sweden reaching its ambitious climate targets.”
OX2 applied for Natura 2000 permit for Triton in December last year.
It had also applied for a permit under the Exclusive Economic Zone Act for the Galatea-Galene offshore wind farm off the west coast of Sweden.
