OX2 has submitted the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for its Laine offshore wind project to the Finnish authorities.
Located about 30 km off the coast, Laine could include up to 150 turbines, generating 11TWh of clean electricity annually.

The project is being developed by OX2 and Ingka Investments.
The assessment provided new insights into largely unexplored marine areas in Finland’s exclusive economic zone, OX2 said.
Extensive studies covered everything from seafloor mapping to hydrogen infrastructure, it added.
With electricity demand in Finland set to double by 2035, Laine can play a key role in achieving a carbon-neutral, energy-independent future.
