Pacifico Energy has secured a site survey licence for a 500MW offshore wind project in Vietnam.
The company said the permit was granted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for a project in Ba Ria Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City.

Pacifico Energy added the licence is one of the first awarded to a foreign developer in the country.
The project is expected to support Vietnam’s energy security and economic growth targets.
Pacifico Energy has previously developed projects in Vietnam including a 40MW solar farm in Lam Dong and a 30MW wind farm in Vinh Long.
The company said it aims to work with authorities and industry stakeholders to develop a regulatory framework for offshore wind.
