Palfinger Marine has won a contract to deliver 66 PSM 400 stiff boom cranes to the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The cranes will be fitted to the base of each of the project’s GE Haliade 6MW turbines.
Palfinger said the model can be remotely operated and is certified by DNV GL.
Senior sales manager Rupert Reischi said: “All the energy and effort we have invested for more than thirteen years into this very interesting and challenging offshore wind business has again led to a large-scale order and increases our momentum even further.
“We are confident that other potential customers in the wind industry will also see the advantages of our products and of having Palfinger Marine as a strong partner.”
The hardware will be delivered in September 2017.
