International energy logistics provider Peterson and Coast Renewable Services have formed a joint venture company to provide integrated services to the offshore wind sector.

The company, Coast Offshore, will combine Peterson’s 50 years of energy logistics experience with Coast Renewable Services’ extensive experience in providing full turnkey solutions to the wind sector.

Coast Offshore will be led by Michael Leitch as managing director.

In addition to marine management, warehousing, stevedoring and customs formalities, Coast Offshore will provide a comprehensive range of technical solutions to support offshore wind farms throughout the energy lifecycle.

It also has the geographical footprint and transferrable skills to support the construction and installation of floating wind projects.

Mark Robson, managing director of Coast Renewable Services, said: “Coast are really pleased to have found partners, and friends, in Peterson to take this venture forward.

“We look forward to a strong and successful collaboration to support the offshore wind sector. This is truly an exciting time to be in offshore wind and we can’t wait to discuss the opportunities further with our valued and new customers.”

Leitch added: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead and build our new joint venture. I look forward to working with the Peterson team to establish Coast Offshore as the partner of choice to the offshore wind sector.”

Sarah Moore, Chief Executive of Peterson Energy Logistics, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Coast, who have over a decade of very strong experience in supporting the wind sector.

“We see great potential for the Coast Offshore joint venture, as the combination of that wind specific experience, coupled with our own expertise in marine logistics, ensures we can deliver the integrated solutions clients are looking for.”

With its partners having a combined presence in Shetland, Aberdeen, Edzell, Montrose, Dundee, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Heysham, Coast Offshore is well-placed to support both existing and new wind farms around the UK.
