Polish grid operator PSE has confirmed its transmission infrastructure is technically ready to accept power from the first offshore wind farms.
The company said the new Choczewo station, the expanded Żarnowiec station and the 400kV line between them are prepared to transmit energy from Baltic Sea projects.
It added that tests of primary and secondary equipment at Choczewo confirmed technical readiness to receive power.
Specialised measurements on the 400kV Choczewo–Żarnowiec line also confirmed voltage readiness.
Work at the Żarnowiec station included connecting two new bays to the busbars and conducting voltage tests.
PSE stated that the transmission and station infrastructure will remain in trial operation until construction work is completed and permits obtained.
The company is building two substations and more than 250 kilometres of high-voltage lines in the region to accommodate renewable energy.
