Prysmian Group connected the 402MW Veja Mate offshore wind farm and the Borwin2 grid system in the German North Sea.
The contract was awarded to the Italian company by the Dutch-German system operator TenneT.
Prysmian said the interconnection consists of two 155kV high voltage AC submarine cables along an 11.4km route from the wind farm to the BorWin beta offshore platform.
The platform converts the AC power generated by the wind farms into DC to enable transmission to the mainland by ways of the HVDC BorWin2 submarine cable link, it said.
The Borwin2 HVDC connection has a transmission capacity up to 800MW and consists of cables produced by Prysmian, the company added.
