The 180MW Rui Li 1 floater, developed by a consortium of IX Renewables, Hexicon and GF Corporation, will be taking part in Taiwan’s inaugural Floating Wind Demonstration and will also make its debut at Energy Taiwan 2024 this October.
The project team said the array located 21km off of Hsinchu County has passed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), first stage of preliminary review, this year.
Situated in water depth from 75 metres to 95 metres, the wind farm (artist’s impression pictured) could install 12 floating turbines with a total installed capacity of 180MW, generating 833GWh for about 205,000 households a year.
