First power has been delivered from the GE Haliade 150-6MW turbines at the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm off the coast of France, the first electricity generated by a commercial offshore wind project in France.
Saint-Nazaire is being developed by a consortium of EDF, Enbridge and Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board.

EDF said 27 of the 80 machines have been installed 12km and 20km off the French coast.
It added that teams from the French network operator Réseau de Transport d’Electricite (RTE) are connecting the wind farm to the local grid.
Jan De Nul is installing the turbines, with the first having been erected in April.
