A consortium of Atlantique Offshore Energy, GE Grid Solutions and SDI has been selected by a subsidiary of Eolien Maritime France to deliver the offshore substation for the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm off the French coast.
The partners will design, manufacture and install the offshore substation for the project.

The consortium said that while it awaits a final investment decision on the project it will launch studies needed to guarantee the installation, scheduled for 2021.
Saint-Nazaire will comprise 80 6MW turbines and is being developed by EMF, which consists of EDF and Enbridge.
It is scheduled for commissioning in 2022.
