Scottish Enterprise has published a guide for the oil and gas industry highlighting diversification opportunities in 10 growth markets including offshore wind.
Oil and Gas Diversification Opportunities aims to encourage Scotland’s supply chain to maximise opportunities in additional markets, the economic development agency said.
Scottish Enterprise highlighted two companies that have expanded into the offshore wind industry successfully, offshore grouting specialist FoundOcean and manufacturer Flowline Specialist.
UK offshore wind attracted £10bn of investment in 2010-2015 and will attract a further £18bn between 2016 and 2020, according to the agency.
The diversification guide and factsheets will be launched at an event in the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce offices today.
