Skyborn Renewables has kicked off seabed surveys at its 2GW-plus Pooki offshore wind farm project off the coast of Finland.
The site is in the vicinity of the former Suurhiekka scheme in the Finnish territory of Bothnian Bay 25km from the shore, in an average water depth of 20 metres.
The arrival of Polish marine contractor MEWO SA’s Amber Cecilia survey vessel marks the official start of the active development phase for Skyborn’s wind farm.
The seabed survey company will be gathering crucial data throughout 2024 and the studies will provide crucial data for both technical planning and the upcoming environmental impact assessment (EIA) process. “Pooki has the potential to add over 2GW of clean energy to Finland’s grid – a major step towards a sustainable future,” said the German developer.
