SeaPlanner is to provide hardware and software systems to Dong Energy’s Marine and Helicopter Coordination Centre (MHCC) which will cover the developer’s UK offshore wind farm construction projects.
The company, which is part of the SeaRoc group, is to deliver personnel management, vessel and helicopter tracking and communications hardware (TETRA, VHF marine, VHF airband) at a centralised location yet to be chosen.
SeaPlanner will also deploy several unmanned communications containers housing all the equipment required on guard vessels and offshore platforms.
SeaPlanner’s head of operations Nick Murphy said: “Giving the Dong Energy project team the ability to manage multiple sites from a centralised system not only saves a considerable amount of administration time and costs, but it also provides an enhanced level of control and brings standardisation across projects.”
Dong’s senior project manager Louise Damgaard added: “We’re very pleased to work with SeaPlanner to implement these important enhancements to our new Marine and Offshore Coordination capability.”
The contract extends SeaPlanner’s portfolio with Dong, which has now provided support to over 80% of their UK offshore wind farms.
