Seaway 7 Alfa Lift foundation installation vessel will not be operational during 2022, following the folding of the A-frame on the main crane during construction in China in October last year.
The company chief executive Stuart Fitzgerald said in the Seaway 7 annual report that the A-frame has been removed from the vessel, inspected, and is now under repair at the yard.
Repairs to the 3000-tonne Liebherr HLC15000 crane are expected to be complete during the second half of 2022, he said.
Fitzgerald added: “As a result of key supplier delays, the final installation, testing and commissioning of the mission equipment for the upending and lowering of monopiles is expected to represent the critical path to vessel delivery and readiness for operations.
“We do not expect the vessel will be operational on projects during 2022.
“A contingency scenario is activated which utilises Seaway Strashnov to progress the committed work on the Dogger Bank A project in the second half of 2022.”
The Alfa Lift vessel departed for sea trials in early January.
