Semco Maritime and PTSC Mechanical & Construction have secured an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the offshore substation of the 495MW Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The deal with developer Synera Renewable Energy covers design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the jacket and topside, with delivery scheduled for the end of 2027.
Semco will lead engineering, procurement and commissioning of the MV/HV electrical and auxiliary platform systems, supported by ISC Consulting Engineers.
PTSC M&C will handle the jacket EPC scope, equipment procurement and fabrication of the topside at its Vung Tau yard in Vietnam.
Semco senior vice president Thomas Thomsen said: “We are proud that SRE has entrusted our consortium with this project, and we will draw on our joint experience in Taiwan to deliver a stellar result.”
PTSC M&C managing director To Ngoc Tu said the contract is a “successful milestone” for the partnership.
Formosa 4 is SRE’s third offshore wind project in Taiwan and aligns with the government’s localisation policy.
The award marks the consortium’s third offshore substation project in Taiwan, following work on Hai Long and Feng Miao.
