Danish outfit Semco Maritime has signed a two-year contract with Orsted to provide service and maintenance for the reactive compensation station and three offshore substations at the 1218MW Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm off the east coast of England.
The deal runs until the start of next year, and will be carried out from Semco’s office in Grimsby.

Semco Maritime UK head of operations service wind Phaedra Pritchard said: “We are pleased that Orsted has chosen us for the job and we are proud to be able to build on our experience and our successful completion of several offshore substations.”
Hornsea 1 will comprise 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines.
