Nash Maritime has started shipping and navigation work on the 96MW Erebus floating offshore wind project, in the Celtic Sea.
The company has been appointed as the shipping and navigation consultant for the project, being developed by Blue Gem Wind, a joint venture between Total and Simply Blue Energy.
The project is located 44km off the Pembrokeshire coastline in Wales.
Nash Maritime’s scope includes the delivery of radar vessel traffic surveys, which have commenced this month, a Navigation Risk Assessment (NRA) and input to the offshore Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) which is being led by ITPE Limited and MarineSpace.
Nash Maritime will manage and deliver the project, over the two year contract duration, from its Southampton headquarters with support from the wider consultancy and survey team.
Nash Maritime director Jamie Holmes said: “We’re delighted to be working with MarineSpace and the Erebus team.
“This is a pivotal and pioneering project for floating offshore wind in the UK and worldwide.
“The background of our multi-disciplinary team in offshore wind developments, coupled with our analytical tools and detailed knowledge of shipping and navigation stakeholders, will be key to our performance and delivery of this project.”
