Anma Offshore Wind has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Siemens Gamesa and Doosan Enerbility to jointly consider increasing the local content of its 532MW South Korean project, located in Yeonggwang Municipality, South Jeolla Province.
By executing this MOU, the parties are seeking to increase the project local content through the final nacelle assembly of Siemens Gamesa’s SG 14-236 DD wind turbine generators in Doosan’s Changwon factory.
While establishing localization alternatives may create additional costs, Anma expects these costs to be carried through benefits in the upcoming RPS auction.
Anma has completed the final EIA consultation with the Ministry of Environment and therefore eligible to participate in the upcoming Auction.
Besides the wind turbine generators, Anma is well-advanced in the remaining procurement of its balance of plant packages, the developer said.
It expects to formally launch the project financing process with potential lenders in the second half of 2023 and aim to achieve financial close in first quarter 2024.
