Siemens Gamesa has chartered Swire Blue Ocean jack-up Pacific Orca to carry out the bulk of its operations and maintenance work in European waters over the next 18 months.
The agreement, which was first reported by subscriber-only reNEWS last month, started in June and runs to February 2021.

Siemens Gamesa said in a social media posting that the deal will allow it “to more efficiently service the rising of offshore projects across North Europe”.
Pacific Orca “can service all the types of wind turbines installed so far without any need for vessel modification,” the company added.
This reduces “the mobilisation time between different wind turbine types significantly and further lowering the levelised cost of energy of offshore wind power”.
