Polish energy company Energa Group is rebranding one of its subsidiaries as part of efforts to increase its renewables focus.
The group’s subsidiary Energa Wytwarzanie is being renamed as Energa OZE.
Energa Group says it is also investing in innovative electricity production technology and will create thousands of new jobs.
According to Energa Group, 30% of its energy generation mix is sourced from renewables comprising 46 hydropower plants, five wind and two solar farms, totalling 444MW.
The company also has a development pipeline of solar and onshore wind projects and says it is committed to offshore wind in the longer term, in line with Polish energy policy which is targeting 6GW of wind capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2035 and 10GW by 2040.
Energa Group is one of the four largest energy suppliers in Poland, with over three million customers, and is also the third largest distribution system operator in the country.
