A joint venture of Sif Holding and Smulders has won a contract for monopile foundations and transition pieces for EnBW’s 112MW Albatros offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The contract was awarded by GeoSea, which is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the foundations for Albatros.
Sif will produce the monopiles, while the joint venture with Smulders will produce the transition pieces.
Sif will produce the primary steel and Smulders will be responsible for the secondary steel and outfitting of the transition pieces.
The project is scheduled to commence operations in the second half of 2019 and will feature 16 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines.
