Spanish fabricator Euskalforging has secured a deal to supply Sif with 71 flanges for monopile foundations for the 497MW Hohe See wind farm in the German North Sea.
The steel rings will be integrated into the tubulars that are being made by Sif.
Euskalforging said it will press its “flexible manufacturing set up” into action to tackle the job.
Fabrication of the foundations and flanges is due to start in the second quarter of this year, with installation at the project site by GeoSea due to begin in early-2018.
The €1.8bn Hohe See wind farm, developed by EnBW and Enbridge, is scheduled to be fully commissioned in the second half of 2019.
