Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has awarded tenders to more than 8700MW of offshore wind farms in the country.
A total of six developers and ten projects who entered bids qualified for the first round selection for the Phase III Zonal Development auction.
Skyborn Renewables Taiwan picked up the most capacity with awards for the 300MW Hai-Xia Phase II, 700MW Yo-Der and 700MW Da-Tian wind farms.
The former is due to come online in 2026, while the latter will connect to the grid in 2027.
Elsewhere, Corio Generation was successful in its bids for the 732MW Hai-Ding 2, which will be operational in 2026, and the 720MW Hai-Ding 3.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners bagged the largest single development with an award for its 1.8GW Feng-Miao wind farm, with Synera Renewable Energy following closely behind with its 1536MW Formosa 4 project.
Both developments are due online in 2027.
Northland Power also won a bid for the 1204MW North-Wind and 602MW Can-Wind, while Taiya Renewable Energy picked up an award for the 440MW Huan-Yang wind farm.
