Taipei has published a key policy blueprint governing the use of local content on Round 3 offshore wind farms.
It is understood officials have proposed setting minimum levels for projects that come through the tenders.
The rules have also relaxed some stipulations for sourcing equipment in Taiwan compared to Round 1 and 2 projects.
Taipei said it hopes the measures will encourage developers to support Taiwanese companies.
The government said the goal is to build a “cost-effective domestic offshore wind power industry”.
“The Ministry of Economic Affairs will continue to dialogue with the industry to establish consensus on development based on the achievements of industrial investment and technological development,” added a statement from the government.
