JDR has selected Tekmar Energy to provide the cable protection systems at the the 120MW Formosa 1 Phase 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
Tekmar will supply around 60 protection units for the project and a further 60 hang off clamps which hold the subsea cable in place within the turbine transition piece.
The units will be produced in Tekmar’s manufacturing facility in north-east England.
Tekmar Energy managing director Russell Edmondson said: “We are delighted for Tekmar to be selected as the cable protection system and hang off supplier for Formosa 1 Phase 2.
“This continues Tekmar’s relationship with JDR Cables and furthers our position as the world market leader in offshore wind cable protection systems.”
JDR projects director Paul Marsh said: “Cable protection systems are vital for protecting the subsea cables of offshore wind farm projects.

Formosa 1 Phase 2 is a project located 6km from the shore of Taiwan, consisting of 20 turbines in a water depth of approximately 15-30m.
The project is set for completion in 2019.
