TenneT together with Lloyds Bank, Rabobank and Royal Bank of Scotland has issued a €500m green bond to help fund links between offshore wind farms and the onshore grid.
The transmission system operator said the bond will have a 17-year term, with the coupon set at 1.25%.
TenneT said the proceeds go to the 800MW DolWin1 and 916MW DolWin2 projects, which were inaugurated in 2015 and 2016, respectively, and the 900MW DolWin3 scheme which is expected to be commissioned in 2017.
The 864MW SylWin1 project, inaugurated in 2015, and the 900MW BorWin3, which is planned for commissioning in 2019, will also benefit from the green bond’s proceeds.
