Turbine support company TRG Wind has sold its recruitment business and is opening a new operations centre in Hull to expand its services in the offshore sector.
The company provides wind turbine technicians and supervisory services to manufacturers and operators during construction, commissioning and maintenance of turbines.
Most of TRG Wind’s work is onshore or overseas, said its managing director David Elcombe.
But, he said, there is potential to increase that and to expand activities offshore.
The company has secured premises at Tower House Lane business park in Hull for its new operations centre, headed by field operations director James Overton.
“The new operations centre gives us plenty of space for our tools, protective equipment, clothing and vehicles,” Elcombe said.
The recruitment arm was sold to Nico Young, former TRG Wind operations co-ordinator, who becomes managing director and 100% shareholder of the newly created recruitment company RS Wind.
Elcombe added: “We think we can bring in more work if we separate recruitment from the rest of what we do so we have decided to sell that side of the business.”
