The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is to postpone three more public meetings set for this week concerning the 800MW Vineyard Wind offshore wind farm off Massachusetts because of the continuing government shutdown in the US.
The meetings, which would have covered the project’s draft environmental impact statement, were scheduled for the 15, 16 and 17 January and where to be held in Hyannis, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
Last week, BOEM postponed two similar meetings, which should have been held on the 8 and 9 January, for the same reason.
BOEM said that the public is encouraged during the shutdown to submit comments online for the draft environmental impact statement and the final environmental impact report submitted to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act office.
It added that the meetings will be rescheduled at yet to be decided dates in the future.
Vineyard Wind is a 50:50 joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid Renewables.
