Dutch marine outfit Van Oord is to replace its executive board with a new executive committee to strengthen its governance structure.
The executive committee will be responsible for managing Van Oord as a whole with a view to short and long-term goals, the company said.
From 1 January, the committee will consist of chief executive officer Pieter van Oord, chief financial officer Jolanda Poots-Bijland and chief commercial officer Niels de Bruijn.
The managing directors of Van Oord’s four business units, Govert van Oord (BU Dredging), Ronald Schinagl (BU Netherlands), Arnoud Kuis (BU Offshore Wind) and Maurits den Broeder (BU Offshore) will also sit on the committee.
The company has meanwhile appointed Paul Verheul to take over as executive director of MerweOord, the Van Oord family holding company.
Verheul, who will also be nominated in April 2020 as a member of the supervisory board of Van Oord, will replace Hans van der Ven on 1 January.
