Vattenfall reported a 20% increase in net sales for its wind energy unit in the first quarter of the year thanks to a surge of new installed capacity.
Sales rose to Skr2.5bn compared with Skr2bn last year as underlying operating profit increased to Skr858m from Skr705m.
The new capacity comprises the 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm in Germany and the 54MW Ray onshore wind plant, as well as 144MW out of the 228MW Pen y Cymoedd facility in Wales.
These projects allowed Vattenfall to increase its production of wind energy despite weaker winds in the period.
Overall, the Swedish company reported stable net sales of about Skr40bn and a 30% drop in EBITDA to Skr9.7bn.
