Vattenfall has selected Northern Offshore Services to provide two crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for work at the 605MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm off Denmark.
The CTVs will be based at Klintholm Harbour on Mon ready to help service the 72 turbines at the wind farm for three years.
They will start servicing the turbines as they come into operation over the course of 2021.
Vattenfall head of offshore operation and maintenance delivery Erik Hiensch said: “In our choice of operator we have focused on both keeping costs low and the operational qualities of the vessel.
“Based on this we have landed on a solution with Northern Offshore Services.
“Importantly, NOS were able to guarantee operation in higher waves and reducing the need for helicopter flights to service Kriegers Flak.”
Northern Offshore Services board chair David Kristensson said: “Northern Offshore Services are proud to have been selected to supply crew transfer vessels to Vattenfall for Danish Kriegers Flak project.
“Being chosen for new projects are the best compliment we can get and I look forward to extend our cooperation with Vattenfall.”
